NOTICE – The Borough of Ogdensburg is seeking a part-time tax assessor to perform the statutory duties related to valuation of real property for local tax purposes. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate assessment records, preparing and certifying the annual tax list, reviewing property changes, responding to taxpayer inquiries and representing the Borough before the Sussex County Board of Taxation and as necessary the New Jersey Tax Court. Applicants must possess a Certified Tax assessor (CTA) license issued by the State of New Jersey and have working knowledge of New Jersey property tax laws and regulations. Prior municipal experience is preferred. The position requires three to four hours per week. Salary range is $3,200.00 to $25,000.00.
